A little over a week ago, I asked my boss for a day off (a Thursday) for the chance to hike Wind Wolves Preserve. Springtime comes early to most of California, and because it had rained the week before, I knew there would be wild flowers and lush green grass. If you don't ask, the answer is always going to be no. Thankfully, my boss was ok with it.
There weren't many people at the preserve (possibly because it was a Thursday). But that was to our advantage - acres of land with no other human or man-made structure in sight.
The first part of the hike is uphill, but then you're greeted with a log bench overlooking the entrance of the preserve. It's a perfect spot for a picnic.
Stay on the trails as there may be some snakes around, though we did not encounter any. However, we did find a little lizard to model for us.
You'll also see some sheep, cows and birds.
It was difficult not to include every shot I took of this place because it is truly amazing. Hope you enjoy the photos.
